I am very Team Fudgy Brownie - and my go-to is the brownie recipe in Molly W’s “Delancey”. They are minimalist and perfect. I’m so curious - what else is in your current Cookbook Pile?!
ooh great question. well i'm reading Crystal Wilkinson's Praisesong for the Kitchen Ghosts, which is part memoir part cookbook. I just got a galley of Khushbu Shah's AMRIKAN, which I can't wait to cook out of; and I've been wanting to spend time with two 2023 books that I haven't had the space to delve into yet, Yewande Komolafe's My Everyday Lagos and Bee Wilson's The Secret of Cooking. I am currently away from the stack but these are top of mind :) what about you?
OK: current stack! Melissa Clark’s Dinner in One - there’s always one of her books on my counter. I’m trying to make weeknight cooking a little more streamlined and trust Melissa to not lead me astray. The roasted feta with peppers and roasted polenta with mushrooms are mainstays now! Whole Food Cooking Every Day by Amy Chaplin because I, too, enjoy a non-punitive chia pudding from time to time. Ottolenghi’s Jerusalem - my favorite of his and I haven’t pulled it out in a while so I’m going to try some new recipes in the next couple of weeks. Joshua McFadden’s Grains for Every Season Ali Slagle’s I Dream of Dinner - which is just ridiculously delightful. And I’m staring at my shelf as I type this deciding which Nigel Slater book to pull out and read like a novel - I frequently do this at the start of a new season!
The malt variation of these in the book is my house brownie
i have never ONCE made anything malt flavored but now i need to try
Brownie edges and corners are *the* best.
yes !!!!
